Q: How was childcarepro founded?
childcarepro was founded in Winnipeg, Canada by an experienced team of professionals, who believe that the only method of developing a software that would meet the needs of the childcare industry is to work side-by-side with the directors and providers within this industry.  childcarepro was designed with the assistance of the Manitoba Child Care Association, facility directors, accountants, and computer teaching professionals.   

Q: What is the company's vision?
Our vision at childcarepro is to find unique and creative ways to use technology to simplify the administrative workload and strengthen relationships between care providers and the families they serve.  

Q: How is the company financed?
childcarepro is privately funded with financial assistance provided by various government agencies.

childcarepro is industry driven.  Our team of in-house developers will continue to enhance our products as well as add new modules and features that will be identified by the industry.  All enhancement and future developments are the results of recommendations by our users and our consulting team.

Q: How does childcarepro work?
To get started with childcarepro, all you need is an Internet connection.  childcarepro is accessed through a secured site.  You will be given a username and password and you are ready to start using childcarepro.  Because childcarepro is an Internet based software service, there?s no program to install, no updates to worry about.  Instead, you access childcarepro using almost any computer with an Internet connection.  This means that you can now manage your facility from your office, your home ? almost anywhere ? 24 hours a day!

Q: How can childcarepro simplify the management of my centre?
childcarepro is an all inclusive service that allows you to manage all-important aspects of your business including: enrollment, subsidy, invoicing, programming, health information, scheduling and more.. childcarepro tracks all information regarding children, parents, consultants, manages waiting lists as well as generate invoices, receipts and subsidy payments.  Information is entered once and shared throughout all the modules therefore eliminating duplicate data entry, potential errors, saving time and saving money.

Q: Can I access the software from my home?
Yes you can access you childcarepro from your home. You can access your records from wherever you are working ? all you need is an Internet connection.  To access your files, you go the www.childcarepro.biz web site and use the login screen.
 
Q: I provide infant, preschool, nursery and/or before and after school programs, how can I benefit from childcarepro?
childcarepro was designed to accommodate any types of programs.  Whether you run a flexible, full time or part-time schedule for your clients, childcarepro consolidates repetitive tasks therefore reduces your administrative hours.  

Q: I have multiple facilities. How does childcarepro help me manage all of my locations?
Because childcarepro is delivered over the Internet, you can access and share information with multiple locations without adding expensive hardware or network equipment.  If your administrative office is located in a central location and you need to oversee other facilities, you can access each of the location?s records by simply logging on from wherever you are working, and clicking on the location whose records you want to securely view.  childcarepro eliminates the need for passing information back and forth between locations saving you time and money.  Regardless of the location you are at, the information is always current and up to date.

Q: How does childcarepro differ from desktop client/server application?
If you use a desktop software package and you want to share information across multiple computers, you will need to install the software on all computers.  In order to maintain up to date copy of your records on all computers, the file will need to be copied to all computers.  The transfer of files to all computers will need to be done daily.   The other option is to network your equipment, which is also very costly.   
With childcarepro, because it is Internet based, you eliminate all of the maintenance and expense. You can share information with multiple facilities and multiple computers.  You can share the workload with co-workers as well as professionals who are assisting you with your business.  You will need to supply them with their secure password and they can work from anywhere.  childcarepro will allow multiple users to access and enter data at the same time.
Another great advantage of childcarepro is that you always have the most recent version of the software.  All changes and new features are always available to you free of charge.  You will not need to download the version; it will be available to you next time you sign on to childcarepro.  
Your monthly subscription agreement includes all maintenance, updates and backups.  childcarepro is maintained from our offices.    Any reports generated from childcarepro can also be saved directly to your own computer for quick and easy access.  

Q: What type of equipment do I need in order to use childcarepro?

Q: How do I get upgrades to childcarepro?
Every time you log on to childcarepro, you always have the most recent version.  There are no updates to download.  childcarepro will notify you of all upgrades to the program.  You will not need to do anything.  All these upgrades are free and available to you for the duration of the subscriber agreement.  You get up to date software at no extra cost.

Q: What security does childcarepro provide and how can I be sure that my data is secure?
Due to the sensitivity of your data, childcarepro provide three levels of security: unique facility, username and passwords, SSL certificates and a secure hosting environment.  
Unique facility, username and passwords - You control who has access to your application and data.  We will set up one administrator and you control all other users.  Each centre will be assigned a facility name, username and a unique password.  Your centre administrator controls all users at your facility.  
SSL transmission security - SSL certificates provides three things:  Privacy, Company Authentication, and Message Integrity.  childcarepro uses industry standard 128-bit SSL encryption.  The 128 bits refers to the size of the session key that is created for each SSL connection, and used to encrypt digital information. Note - The longer the key, the stronger the encryption. You can determine that you are on a secure site when you see the locked lock or key at the bottom of your browser.  URL?s that begin with ?https? indicate that an SSL connection will be used. SSL is used in communications between Web browsers and Web servers.  The information being transmitted is encrypted ensuring that the intended recipient is and ensures the information has not been tampered with.
Hosting Site - At childcarepro your data and applications are housed in a controlled secure environment.  Technical experts provide daily backups, stored offsite, as well as protect our systems against computer virus and unwanted intrusion.  In addition, our technicians monitor to ensure that the system is up and running throughout your business hours, so you know that you can operate efficiently.  The network is secured by industry-standard firewall.  All servers are equipped with up-to-date anti-virus software.  Updates are done on a daily basis.  To ensure we remain current with our security measures; we conduct third-party security audits annually.

Q: What happens if the childcarepro system goes down?
Technical experts ensure that the system is up and running throughout your business hours, so you know that you can operate efficiently.   In the event the system goes down for an unusual reason, technical experts are available to attend to the situation immediately.

Q. How often is scheduled maintenance performed? At what time of the day? What notification is provided to customers?
Scheduled maintenance is performed after or before our regular office hours.  Our technical staff will notify you by email of the next scheduled maintenance work.

Q. What security is in place to prevent customers accessing each other?s data? How is each customer?s data partitioned?
The management of each centre is controlled independently.  Only your authorized users will have access to your center?s information.  Your facility administrator will maintain all users for your centre.

Q. What type of backup systems is in place?
Simultaneously the information is stored on two separate hard drives. The information is transferred twice daily to second server.  As well all data is backed up to tape drives and taken offsite every day.

Q: How much technical knowledge will I need?
If you are already using a computer and know how to access the Internet, you are ready to start working with childcarepro.

Q: Is any training required to learn to use the system?
childcarepro is easy to learn and use.  Designed with childcare directors in mind, it offers user ? friendly screens and menus that allow you to effortlessly organize and manage your facility.  childcarepro provides consistent data entry and responses, allowing inexperienced  users to master it easily and quickly.  Training and support is provided to get you started and help you become independent.

Q: Is there training available if I need it?
Our training staff will work with you to get you set-up.  At any time, you can download from our secure site, five free step-by-step manuals.  Through out the duration of your contract, you may contact our support line, e-mail us and we will ensure your questions are answered.  Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will walk you through each situation.   

Q: Will I need to pay for training?
That?s the great advantage of the subscriber agreement, training and support is provided free of charge for the duration of the contract.

Q: How do I contact Customer Support?
Customer support is available Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Central Time.  We can be reached by e-mail anytime or by telephone during our business hours.  We try to answer all support requests within the same business day.

Q: Do I need to pay for Customer Support?
Support to all users is available free of charge for the duration of the contract.

Q: How quickly can my facility be up and running?
Your centre can be up set up within childcarepro within two business days.  

Q: How long does it take and how do I get access to childcarepro?
We can have you up and running within two business days.  You will need to sign a subscriber agreement; set-up payment arrangement and you are ready to start.  We will set-up an administrator for your centre and you are ready to go.  Call, email or fax us and we will get you started.

Q: What is the price of the childcarepro?

Q: How can I make payments?

Depending on the duration of the contract, you can pay monthly or if it is more convenient for you, you can make your payments quarterly or annually.
